It works on the principle of inversion of soil. Therefore, rotary tillers have curved vertical blades fixed to a horizontal shaft along with tines.

As we have discussed above, rotary tillers work on the principle of inversion. The curvature digs deep into the soil and tines lift the cut part. The blades even can rotate in a reversible manner to ensure perfect granulation of soil. Therefore, rotary tillers are beneficial for hard, stoney, and complex soils that require extensive tillage.
